Garmin and Landmark

Garmin Connect sends your steps, workouts, sleep and more from your Garmin to Apple Health. Landmark reads them from there and tracks the habits you pick.

Sources checked October 10, 2026

Landmark reads Apple Health, not Garmin directly. Once Garmin Connect is sharing with Health, your Garmin's data reaches Landmark with nothing else to link.

What Garmin Connect sends to Apple Health

From Garmin's support page, Sharing Your Garmin Connect Data With Apple Health, read October 10, 2026: Active Energy, Body Fat Percentage, Flights Climbed, Heart Rate, Resting Energy, Sleep Analysis, Steps, Walking + Running Distance, Water, Weight, and Workouts ("activities uploaded to Garmin Connect"), plus one type Landmark does not read.

The habits it fills in Landmark

Landmark habit From
Steps Steps
Walking + running distance Walking + Running Distance
Flights climbed Flights Climbed
Active energy, Total energy Active Energy, plus Resting Energy for the total
Workouts, Strength, Running distance Workouts
Zone 1 to Zone 5 Heart Rate, with your date of birth in Health
Asleep by Sleep Analysis
Water Water

As goals you watch rather than tasks you do, Landmark can follow your Weight and Body fat if a Garmin scale records them, and Time asleep from your sleep.

What it does not send

Garmin's list leaves out resting heart rate, heart rate variability, VO₂ max, exercise minutes and mindful minutes, so those goals and habits cannot come from Garmin. Another source in Health may still fill them.

Set it up

  1. In Garmin Connect, open More, then Settings, Connect Apps, Apple Health, and choose what to share.
  2. Open Landmark and allow it to read the categories you want tracked.

Worth knowing

  • Garmin says data moves to Health after each device sync, and only while Garmin Connect is open on screen.
  • For a workout, Garmin sends only the high and low heart rate, so zone minutes during a workout may read lower than your Garmin shows. All-day heart rate is sent in full.
  • MET minutes counts the intensity a workout carries, which Garmin's list does not include.
  • Garmin data does not move Apple's Activity rings. That does not affect Landmark, which reads the readings themselves.
