Apple Watch and Landmark

Your Apple Watch records activity, heart rate, sleep and daylight into Apple Health. Landmark reads them from there and tracks the habits you pick.

Sources checked October 10, 2026

Landmark reads Apple Health and nothing else. There is no Apple Watch app to pair and no account to link: whatever your watch records in Health, Landmark can read, once you allow it.

What Apple Watch records in Apple Health

From Apple's own support pages, read October 10, 2026:

The habits it fills in Landmark

Landmark habit From
Steps, Walking + running distance, Flights climbed Activity, from the watch or the iPhone
Exercise minutes The watch's exercise minutes
Stand hours, Stand minutes The watch's stand data
Active energy, Total energy Active energy, plus resting energy for the total
Workouts, Strength, Running distance Workouts you record on the watch
MET minutes The intensity the watch records on a workout
Zone 1 to Zone 5 Heart rate, with your date of birth in Health
Asleep by Sleep
Time in daylight Time in daylight
Mindful minutes Mindfulness sessions

As goals you watch rather than tasks you do, Landmark can follow your VO₂ max and Time asleep from the watch's readings.

Set it up

  1. On your iPhone, open Health, tap your picture, then Devices, pick your Apple Watch and check Privacy Settings: Fitness Tracking, and Heart Rate and Time in Daylight on the watch, should be on.
  2. Open Landmark and allow it to read the categories you want tracked. You can change that later in Health, under Sharing, then Apps.

Worth knowing

  • Time in daylight, exercise minutes and stand data come only from Apple Watch. An iPhone on its own fills Steps and the distance habits.
  • Zone minutes need your date of birth in Health. Without it, the zone habits say so and read nothing.
  • Landmark only reads. It never writes anything back to Health.
